More Sprouts!

On Sunday, February 27, 2011, I noticed that I have some broccoli, squash, and corn sprouted up.  I've decided that my little seeds love living next to the fireplace!  Surprisingly, the soil is not dried out like I thought it would.  The lettuce is almost so tall I will have to take the dome off of them in a day or two.  My little garden is growing so much everyday!

Despite the spout of winter bliss that God sent our way this week, I started my seeds indoors on Saturday, February 18, 2011.  I planted a variety of different veggies (broccoli, lettuce, corn, pumpkins, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, etc), herbs (cat nip, parsley, and chives), and flowers (sunflowers and baby's breath).  I tried growing them in the kitchen, but they didn't appear to like it there very much.  The soil was still cold and saturated and showing the first signs of mold after only a few days of being planted.  So, I moved them to the living room, next to the fireplace.  Since their move, the lettuce seeds have sprouted up like weeds (sprouted on February 23, 2011)- and in this case - that's a good thing!
